The Sabre Pinot Noir

2015 Vintage

James Halliday Wine Companion - A sabre, it seems, can cleave a pinot that is alive with a fragrant red flower (roses) perfumed bouquet and a juicy/spicy palate that welcomes all who draw near. Relaxed, silky tannins and a quick kiss on the cheek by the oak, complete a wine that is ready now (but with more to come). 95 Points”
Campbell Mattinson – The Wine Front – 91 Points

Toni Patterson MW – “There is no mistaking the variety here. Wafting strawberry and cherry aromatics with a slight touch of char. There is so much flavour on the mid-palate, without being overly fruity. Lovely length and progression of flavour. A wine of immediate appeal, with excellent balance and delicious more-ish flavours. 93 Points

         2014 Vintage

“James Halliday Wine Companion - This has utterly convincing varietal character, spiced black cherries allied with touches of charcuterie, the texture/mouthfeel with enough complexity to take it into the top echelon. Other than Ashton Hills, this is as good as it gets in this neck of the woods. 96 Points”

        2013 Vintage

“James Halliday Wine Companion - Small batch open-fermented and 10 months in French oak (25% new). The bouquet sings of red and black cherry, allied with twists of raspberry and oak, the palate effortlessly carrying on with the refrain of the bouquet; has particularly good drive through to the finish and slightly savoury aftertaste. 95 Points
