The salmon tinge to the hue points to the pressings being oxidised before fermentation in oak, 25% of the free-run juice was fermented in French hogsheads and barriques (15% new). No shortage of flavour (nashi pear and ginger) nor of texture. A pinot gris that fully deserves the gris name.  93 Points”

2017 James Halliday Top 100

For the third year in a row James Halliday has named our Riposte ‘The Dagger’ Pinot Noir as one of his top 100 wines of the year and as one of the Top 20 Red Wines Under $25. “Full colour.  The Dagger has only just been drawn as at September ’17, but will underwrite the development of a wine that has much to offer.  There’s considerable depth and complexity to its plum and dark cherry fruit.  A foresty/earthy subtext adds another dimension.  94 Points”

Matthew Jukes Top 100 Australian Wines 2017-18 (UK)

The 2016 Riposte ‘The Dagger’ Pinot Noir has been named as one of Matthew Jukes Top 100 Australian Wines of 2017-18 with the 2016 ‘The Foil’ Sauvignon Blanc and 2014 ‘The Cutlass’ Shiraz receiving honourable mentions. Matthew has also named Riposte as one of the 40 most consistent and successful Australian producers in the 14 years has has been compiling his annual report.
